I still remember the wired look when i first answer the question "What You Want To Be When You Grow Up?"; yes i answered them "I Want to Become An Entrepreneur". My parents, My teachers all told me that study well, get good grade, get a good job and secure your life. They also told me being an entrepreneur is risky and not a good path to choose. I was silent and confused....
In my area where being an entrepreneur or starting a business is for those who did not get passed in examinations,who failed to get any job or stop his studies. being an entrepreneur is the last option for them. If they try all other options and failed in it, then they think about starting a new business or being an entrepreneur.
I dint think its a right thought, i believe its not that mean to be an entrepreneur . If a child want to become a doctor, engineer, attorney or CPA (Chartered Accountant) he/she will study for years and sacrifice many of their likes to become what they want, and their parents supports them to become one. The same is applicable to being an entrepreneur. If you wanna be an entrepreneur study hard, over come obstacles that you face on the way, learn those things that will lead to be a successful entrepreneur. It will take time may be months or years then only you can able to begin the journey towards entrepreneurship. You will face failure many times through out the journey. Remember "Rome Wasn't Built in a Day, But They Were Laying Bricks Every Hour."
To become an entrepreneur is not a simple thing to try. Let us look one example. Imagine if you wanna become a CPA / Chartered Accountant then you only need to study/learn subjects that is associated to your academic syllabus such as book keeping, auditing, tax matters etc. Now think if you wanna be an entrepreneur what subjects you need to study/learn you need to learn at least a minimum of book keeping, auditing, tax matters, management, laws, marketing etc... Yes you need to acquire knowledge on a lot of things to be an successful entrepreneur .
